ISLA VISTA Twelve people were displaced and one person was injured when a vehicle crashed into a home Friday night in the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive, authorities said.
The crash was reported around 9:30 p.m. It was determined that a vehicle went off the roadway, crashed through a fence and into the wall of a house, said Capt. Daniel Bertucelli, spokesman for the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The injured victim suffered minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital, Capt. Bertucelli said.
The gas and water lines to the house were both broken by the crash and were shut down. A county building official responded and declared the house uninhabitable, displacing the residents.
No information was released on the driver of the vehicle.
The incident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
