“Ice cream!!!”
After hundreds upon hundreds of miles on their bikes, thousands participants in the AIDS/Life Cycle bike ride had something to look forward to in Santa Barbara — a plethora of sweet treats.
Deemed the “Paradise Pit,” riders were able to stop, get a scoop (or three) of ice cream, top it off with a mountain of toppings and enjoy a small, welcomed sugar break.
The ride began on Sunday at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and will end Saturday at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles.
On Friday, the ride started on Walnut Avenue in Lompoc, making its way through Goleta and Santa Barbara, eventually stopping San Buenaventura Beach in Ventura.
The ride helps raise funding for further AIDS research, with $16.6 million being raised in 2018.
