HOPE RANCH A woman suspected of package theft was arrested Saturday, authorities said.
According to a Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office news release, a California Highway Patrol officer in Hope Ranch observed a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle pictured in a package theft video.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver, 22-year-old Stephanie Small, of Pismo Beach.
During the stop, the officer recovered property stolen from Via Rosita in Ms. Small’s vehicle.
She was also found with burglary tools, identifying information used in identity theft, stolen checks and account numbers and stolen mail from Santa Barbara, Ventura, Orange and Los Angeles counties.
Ms. Small was arrested and booked into County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property and identity theft. She is currently out on bail.
The stolen property found in her car was returned to the owner.
