
VEILS & TAILS PHOTOGRAPHY People will show their love for animals this Saturday at the Wags n’ Whiskers Festival.
The 11th annual Wags n’ Whiskers Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Santa Barbara City College’s West Campus in the 900 block of Cliff Drive.
The event is the Central Coast’s largest pet adoption event.
C.A.R.E.4Paws’ free, family festival will feature more than 25 shelters and rescue groups and 150-plus adoptable dogs, cats, bunnies and birds.
The festival will also include a pet fashion contest, performances by the Santa Barbara Flyers agility team, Santa Barbara County Search & Rescue, and Chop and Odin from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department’s canine unit.
Those attending the festival can get advice from animal behaviorists, including local dog trainers, cat specialists from Animal Shelter Assistance Program and rabbit experts from Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter, who will present rabbit training demonstrations. In addition, C.A.R.E.4Paws will operate its Meet Your Match booth, where adopters-to-be learn how to find the best pet for their household and lifestyle.The festival also will feature vendors promoting products and services,, the Paws Up For Pets Youth Center and C.A.R.E.4Paws’ Ambassador Dogs. There’s also a Pawparazzi Photo Booth.
