SOLVANG A Madera County man was has been extradited from Missouri in conntection with the June 13 robbery of the Rabobank in Solvang, authorities said.
Marcus Lee Ghent, 32, was booked Saturday into Santa Barbara County Jail, said Kelly Hoover, spokeswoman for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
An arrest warrant was issued June 18 for Mr. Ghent and he was arrested June 25 by the Wright Police Department in Missouri, Ms. Hoover said.
Mr. Ghent waived extradition and he was returned to Santa Barbara County on Saturday. Bail was set at $100,000. He appeared in court Monday for arraignment and his next court appearance it set for Wednesday.
Investigators believe Mr. Ghent entered the Rabobank at about 11:40 a.m. June 13 and passed a note to the teller demanding cash. No weapon was seen. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the possibility that Mr. Ghent is linked to an additional bank robbery in another California county. At this time, it does not appear he had any specific tie to Santa Barbara County or the Solvang area, Ms. Hoover said.
