
93, of Santa Barbara, California died on Thursday morning, January 2, 2014, at Buena Vista Care Center, in Santa Barbara. Salvador or “Chava”, a he was known to those closest to him, was born on December 2, 1920 in Tototlán, Jalisco, Mexico. where he lived until 1945, when he and father, Francisco Becerra migrated to California in search of a better life. Salvador worked as a gardener for 37 years He had a passion for landscaping and gardening and his favorite flower was the gardenia.
Salvador is survived by his current wife of 33 years, Teresa Becerra and his six children, Martha, Salvador I, Maria Elena, Carmen, Salvador II, and Raúl; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The Rosary service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014, 7:30 pm, at Our Lady of Sorrows, 21 E. Sola Street, SB, CA. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 10, 10:00 am., also at OLS. Interment will take place in Salvador’s birthplace, Tototlán, Jalisco, Mexico.
