Patsy Havin Kinghorn Blessing was born on December 22, 1933 in Grand Junction Colorado to Ralph and Helen Havin. Patsy attended schools in Pocatello Idaho and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1952. She also attended Business School in Pocatello. She married Richard Kinghorn and had two children, Scott and Susan.
In 1965 Patsy and her children moved to Santa Barbara. She married Edwin R Blessing in 1967. Patsy worked at the Breakwater in Santa Barbara for Ken Elms’ many businesses for 25 years. She held many different administrative positions as Ken Elms’ right-hand person.
Patsy’s hobbies were interior decorating, home entertaining, art work, and traveling with Ed. Ed and Patsy were very active charter members of the Santa Barbara Elks’ Caravaneers. They traveled the United States extensively to include a one-year trip to all 48 contiguous states in their 5th wheel.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Ed Blessing, her two children Scott Kinghorn of Mesa, AZ, Susan Kinghorn Berman (Steve) of Gilbert, AZ, stepchildren Larry Blessing (Sara) of Santa Barbara, CA and Beverly Hale (Darrell) of Sumpter, OR. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, brothers Ralph B Havin of Billing, MT, and Gary Havin of Pinetop, AZ.
Patsy and her family want to send a genuine thanks and appreciation for kind and thorough care to Dr. Wolliver and staff at the Santa Barbara Cancer Center and Dr. Kearney and staff at Serenity House.
