

After a lengthy illness, Joyce Emily Bonham died peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on April 23, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital. She was 79 years old. She was born in Pueblo, Colorado on September 4, 1933 to Elmer Trout and Wilma Davis. She lived in Guadalupe, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara prior to moving to Ventura. She has been a resident of Ventura for thirty-three years.
Joyce was a devoted wife and mother.She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Terrence Bonham of Ventura; four children, Susan Menke of Colorado, Scott Chiari of Sacramento, Lou Ann Welsh of Ventura, and Teresa Bonham of Oxnard. She also leaves behind several grand-children, Dr. Laura Adler of New York, Ryan Brainerd of Oregon, Lisa Brainerd of Colorado, Brittany Magri of Clovis, Lindsay Chiari of Yreka, and Thomas and Andrew Welsh of Ventura. Joyce was a special woman who brought delight to all who knew her. She was deeply loved and she will be greatly missed. Her family would like to thank the staff at Fresenius Medical Care for their compassion and care as Joyce bravely endured dialysis treatment for almost six years.
A Vigil service will be held Monday, April 29, 7:00 PM, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura with The Reverend Berto Blanco officiating. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2:00 P.M., also at Ted Mayr Funeral Home with Deacon Charles Wessler officiating. Private burial will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
