A 10-year old boy suffered minor injuries when a large limb from an oak tree fell onto his family’s campsite Saturday at Lake Cachuma, authorities said.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews were dispatched to the area at 5:45 p.m. The tree limb slammed through a chair and hit the picnic table at the campsite, according to officials.
The boy was able to escape as the limb came down to avoid more serious injury. He was taken to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Crews remained on scene to cut the fallen tree.
