SANTA BARBARA Work on the Montecito Creek Bridge and other State Route 192 bridges damaged in the 2018 Montecito debris flows is nearly complete, Caltrans announced Tuesday.
The Montecito Creek bridge is expected to open in September, though barricades and locked gates will still be in place as construction continues, according to a news release.
The Toro Creek Bridge is open for one-way traffic until the project’s expected completion in mid-September. The San Ysidro Creek Bridge is expected to be completed in August and is open to two-way traffic. The Romero Canyon Creek Bridge and Toro Canyon Creek Bridge are also open to two-way traffic, and all construction work will be finished in mid-September.
The cost to repair all the bridges was $20 million and was contracted by Caltrans to Security Paving of Sylmar.
