
Rex Patrick Brumbach Jr. was born April 11, 1930 and peacefully died May 22, 2013,
surrounded by his loving family.
“Pat”, as he was known, had a wonderful sense of humor and a brilliant intellect. Hewas Valedictorian of his class at the University of Portland and he earned his Masters degree in physics from the University of Notre Dame in 1962. Additionally Pat served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict.
Pat worked at Delco Electronics and upon retirement he then worked at Vetronix as thein-house mathematician before his final retirement.
Pat’s parents, Wilma and Rex P. Brumbach Sr., his sister Mary, and his loving wife Sheran all preceded him in death.
Surviving Pat are his three children: Michael, Stephen (wife Gabi) and Anne Marie Ditmeijer (husband Dennis).
Pat is also survived by all of his beloved grandchildren: Ashley Brumbach, Nick and Connor Ditmeijer, and Reilly, Sydney and Lucas Brumbach.
Pat’s extensive family includes his brothers and sisters: Ann Brumbach, Beth Brumbach, Dymphna Pazos, David Brumbach, Peggy Hansen, Kathleen Barton and Michael J. Brumbach.
Additionally, Pat has his nieces and nephews: Gene, Chris and Greg Hansen, Brian and Adrienne Barton, Jaime and Elizabeth Pazos and Patrick Brumbach.
His second wife, Ann (nee Hiller), also survives him,.
Services will be held at San Roque Parish, 3200 Calle Cedro, Santa Barbara, on Saturday, May 25 at 11 am.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Santa Barbara, Inc.
