LOMPOC A vegetation fire burned approximately two acres Saturday afternoon in the 3600 block of Harris Grade Road in Lompoc, authorities said.
The Harris Fire was reported around 12:45 p.m. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department launched a full vegetation response, which included a pair of air tankers and a helicopter, said department spokesman Capt. Daniel Bertucelli.
The first engine on scene reported a quarter-acre of brush had been charred. As of 2:30 p.m., the fire had grown to approximately two acres and forward progress was stopped, Capt. Bertucelli said.
Crews were expected to remain on scene until the fire was fully lined and mopped up, he said.
There were reports of power lines down in the area but that had not been confirmed as of Saturday afternoon. An investigator was en route to determine the cause of the blaze.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
