The Women’s Board of Community Arts Music Association is getting a new president, award-winning actress and opera singer Deborah Bertling.
Ms. Berling has a certificate from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in voice performance in South Carolina. She’s performed in plays, musicals, staged readings, concerts, films and operas. Before ascending to the president position, Ms. Berling was first vice president of CAMA’s main Board of Directors.
“Deborah has been a remarkably effective and energetic advocate on behalf of our organization and the cause of sustaining classical music broadly in our community,” said CAMA Executive Director Mark Trueblood. “Her ongoing contributions to CAMA, other local arts groups, and music education efforts in area schools are nothing short of inspiring. We are very pleased to have her serve in this new role.”
