Lena Campbell passed away at her home in Los Olivos, California on Monday, February 18, 2013.
Lena was born in Snyder, Texas. As a child she traveled with her family to Oklahoma by covered wagon and in recent times she was traveling by jet plane. During her life she lived in over 6 states. She was retired from the California Civil Service, traveled throughout the US with the Good Sam Club, worked at her grandson’s donut shop when she was in her 80s, 90s and all through her life was taking care of her family and friends. Over the last several years she was a Santa Ynez Valley Hospital Auxiliary hooker, helping making numerous afghans for the hospital patients.
She is remembered by her family and friends as a loving mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Lena is survived by her daughter Glenna Hughes, daughter- in-law Nancy Hamblin, grandchildren; Vincent Hughes, Leona Hughes Mirelez, Harold Hamblin, Russell Hamblin, Christopher Hamblin, Phillip Hamblin, great-grandchildren; Deana Brandon, Bronc Hughes, Kyle Chappell, Brandon Chappell, Jennifer Hughes Spitz, Vanessa Mirelez, Brandon Mirelez, Elena Mirelez, Cathy Hamblin, Christopher Hamblin, Niki Black, Phillip Hamblin; great-great-grandchildren, Maxtin and Paisley Brandon, Triston and Alexis Mirelez, Bodhi Chappell, Kallee Roomey, Phillip Hamblin, Andiran Angelikis, William Black and numerous members of their families. No funeral services will be held. She will be buried at the Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura, California.
