SANTA BARBARA Rep. Salud Carbajal, D-Santa Barbara, will host a town hall meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, 313 W. Tunnell St. in Santa Maria.
The meeting is meant tol “give Central Coast residents an update on Congress’ work this year, and to answer constituent questions on the issues that matter most to them,” according to a news release.
Impeachment will likely be discussed as Mr. Carbajal came out in favor of an impeachment inquiry on Friday. He cited former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and Mr. Mueller’s testimony before the House in late July.
“We cannot ignore this president’s actions, and we cannot let him off the hook because of his title. I was elected to support and defend our Constitution against all threats, foreign and domestic. That is what I will continue to do,” he said in a Friday news release.
