Carpinteria James Sly, former owner of now closed restaurant Sly’s, passed away last Friday evening due to complications from a stroke.
Sources confirmed the news to the News-Press on Saturday.
Mr. Sly ran Sly’s from 2008 to 2018.
He worked at Lucky’s Steakhouse and El Encanto before he started his own restaurant.
A celebration of Mr. Sly’s life will be held at the Carpinteria Arts Center on Friday at around 1 p.m.
