
The Santa Barbara High water polo team will take on the Dos Pueblos Chargers today in the final round of the boy’s water polo Channel League tournament.
Santa Barbara, which went 5-0 in league play this season, defeated DP in all three matchups this season. The Dons first two wins (11-6 on Sept. 7, and 12-9 on Sept. 21) both came in tournament play. Santa Barbara won 12-9 when the two teams met Oct. 15.
The Dons reached the title game following their 17-6 win over Santa Ynez on Tuesday.
Chase Raisin had a team-high five goals and was one of 11 players to score in the match. Dylan Fogg had three assists and three steals, while Alec Svensson had two assists and three steals. Hunter Brownell had six saves in the win.
The Chargers went 4-1 in league play this season. They advanced to the finals following their 15-11 win over San Marcos on Tuesday.
Rex Goodner and Ethan Parrish each finished with four goals, while Sammy Arshadi added three goals in the win.
The Royals led 8-7 at the half, though the Chargers came out firing and outscored San Marcos 6-1 in the third period. Goodner had three goals in the third. Arshadi, Kai Edick and Connor Goeden each scored one goal apiece in the third. Parrish scored twice in the final period to secure the win.
Today’s championship match will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at Dos Pueblos High.
