
Passed away peacefully March 12, 2013 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Los Angeles surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born May 31, 1951 in Santa Barbara and attended local schools graduating from Santa Barbara High School. Frank lettered in Varsity swimming and was a CIF and Chanel League swimming champion. He was also a member of the Downtown Boys Club and the 144th Division of the Drummer and Bugle Corp. He then joined the armed forces serving our country in Vietnam. Afterwards, Frank worked in security in Santa Barbara, Oxnard, and Los Angeles. An avid Raider fan, Frank bled Silver and Black.
He is survived by wife, Patricia Padilla, son Paul Padilla, grandson Paul, sister Teresa Madrigal, brothers David, Jose, Jeffrey, Rodney, Johnny, and many uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Julia Chavez.
A Memorial Service will be held this Saturday, March 16th at the Veteran’s Memorial Building on Cabrillo Blvd at 12:00. Burial will be on Wednesday, March 20th, 2013 at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.
