Mary passed away peacefully on April 27, 2013 at Valle Verde Care Center. Mary was born September 25, 1927 in Lynas, Denmark. Mary and her husband left Denmark in 1951, and before coming to California lived for a time in Canada. Arne preceded Mary in death.
Mary was dedicated to her work of forty years and all of those she worked with held her in the highest regard and will miss her greatly. Mary was also passionate in her love for animals, and greatly missed the company of her three loving dogs after their passing.
She will be greatly missed by her brother Edward, sister-in-law Lisa and their son. Her neighbors that watched her lovingly tend her garden will also miss her gentle presence in their lives.
Mary’s family and friends would like to express their deepest appreciation to Cottage Hospital, Valle Verde, Hospice Visiting Nurses and the wonderful care they provided to Mary in her last days.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Home, where a
Celebration of Mary’s life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 15, 2013.
In lieu of flowers Mary would have been pleased to know memorial donations were being made to The Humane Society in Goleta.
