CARPINTERIA Several ramp closures are planned next week as work continues on the Linden and Casitas Pass project in Carpinteria.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 10 through Feb. 14, the northbound 101 onramp at Linden Avenue will be closed as crews work on the new sound wall. The southbound offramp remains closed due to the construction of the new retaining walls, according to Caltrans officials.
Work continues on the new overcrossings at Linden Avenue and Casitas Pass Road, with work focused on new sidewalks and safety barriers. Crews are also working on the roundabout at Linden Avenue and residents are reminded that utility construction crews will be on and near Linden Avenue with flagmen as needed.
Ogan Road is closed between Linden Avenue and Pacific Village Drive to allow crews to build the new roundabout and roadway improvements. A local street detour is available on State Route 192. Pedestrians can use the sidewalk detour on Pacific Village Drive during construction. Work also continues on irrigation lines near Casitas Pass Road and the new northbound 101 on and offramps at Casitas Pass Road.
Construction on the Highway 101: Carpinteria project will begin in April. The project includes new northbound and southbound carpool lanes within the city of Carpinteria, new bridges over Franklin and Santa Monica creeks, new sound walls and intersection improvements.
