CARPINTERIA Several closures are planned next week as work continues on the Linden and Casitas Pass Highway 101 widening project in Carpinteria
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 3 to Feb. 7, the northbound 101 onramp at Linden Avenue will be closed as crews work on the new sound wall. The southbound Linden Avenue onramp remains closed, according to Caltrans officials.
Work is ongoing for the overcrossings at Linden Avenue and Casitas Pass Road, and crews are continuing to work on irrigation lines near Casitas Pass Road and the new northbound on and offramps at Casitas Pass Road.
Pre-construction activities are also underway for the Highway 101: Carpinteria project, scheduled to begin in April. From 10 p.m. Feb. 2 to 7 a.m. Feb. 3, the southbound onramp at Santa Claus Lane will be closed. The onramp will also be closed from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Feb. 3 and 4.
The project includes: new northbound and southbound 101 peak-period carpool lanes within the city of Carpinteria; new bridges over Franklin and Santa Monica creeks; new on and offramps at Santa Monica Road, Carpinteria Avenue and Reynolds Avenue; six new sound walls; and intersection improvements at Santa Monica & Via Real, Reynolds & Carpinteria avenues, and Bailard and the freeway ramps.
