CARPINTERIA The new northbound Highway 101 onramp at Linden Avenue is scheduled to open next week as work continues on the freeway widening project in Carpinteria.
From 8 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, portions of northbound 101 will be closed to allow crews to shift barriers and lanes for the next stage of work. Alternating lane closures are also scheduled from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday and 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday as crews move safety barriers and move lanes over to the recently completed Casitas Pass overcrossing. One northbound lane will remain open, according to Caltrans.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, the northbound onramp at Linden Avenue will be closed for paving. The onramp also will be closed during overnight hours Wednesday and Thursday to allow crews to restripe, move safety barriers and open the new onramp, officials said.
The southbound 101 offramp at Casitas Pass Road also will be closed during overnight hours Wednesday and Thursday as crews shift lanes to the new overcrossing.
The new northbound onramp at Linden Avenue will be opened as early as Friday. The southbound 101 offramp at Linden Avenue is closed until early 2020.
