SANTA BARBARA Talk about being a jailbird.
Staff at the Santa Barbara County Jail located off Calle Real in Santa Barbara had a surprise guest over the weekend, as a domestic cockatiel bird made its way into a fenced-in, secure area at the rear of the jail, according to a news release from the Santa Barbara County sheriff’s office.
The bird is currently under care by the jail staff, although the sheriff’s office is hoping to locate the bird’s family and is asking that anyone with information emailinfo@sbsherriff.org.
