Our beloved mother, family member and friend, Jennie Rangel Colomé, aged 96, died peacefully on February 9, 2013, after a brief illness. Jennie was born November 24, 1916, in Los Angeles, California, but lived in Santa Barbara since the age of 2.
She was the daughter of Manuel Rangel and Carlota Avalos Rangel.
Jennie was married to Thomas Charles Oreña for 31 years. Later in life, at the age of 78, she married James Vidal Colomé who passed away in 2000.
Jennie is survived by her sister, Angela and her husband Louis Soto; her son, Charles Oreña, daughter-in-law Kathy Oreña, daughter, Patricia Oreña, many nieces and nephews and close friends. Beloved siblings that departed before her, Henry Rangel, Manuel Rangel, Mike Rangel, Benny Rangel, Andrea Oreña, Charlotte Centeno, Josephine (Jody) Nicholson, and Petra (Pat) Richardson.
