GOLETA The public comment period for a proposal to replace the San Jose Creek Bridge on Highway 101 near State Route 217 in Goleta will open next week.
The bridge replacement is aimed to ensure reliability of the highway would be designed as a single-span bridge that would meet current standards. The proposed project also includes a standard bicycle pedestrian path on the north side of the 217, according to Caltrans officials.
No public meeting will be held for this project due to COVID-19. The intial study and environmental assessment can be found online by visiting www.dot.ca.gov/caltrans-near-me/district-5.Written comments can be submitted starting April 13 through May 27.
