SANTA BARBARA Two community meetings are scheduled to discuss Southern California Edison’s and PG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutdown programs.
The first meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Montecito Union School, 385 San Ysidro Road. Another meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the school gym at Los Olivos Elementary School, 2540 Alamo Pintado Ave., said Gina DePinto, county spokeswoman.
The power companies may shut down power during critical fire weather to reduce the risk of wildfires. The community is invited to learn more about the program from utility representatives. County officials will provide information to help residents make safety decisions and prepare for extended power outages.
Both meetings will be live-streamed on the county’s Facebook page. A video of the meeting will be available at the county’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/user/csbtv20.For more information on how to prepare for power outages and emergencies, visit www.readysbc.org.
