Beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2013 following a long illness. Polo, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Herreras, Durango in Mexico on June 22, 1939. He came to Santa Barbara in 1965 in search of a better future. He worked many years as a landscaper before finally retiring from UCSB’s Francisco Torres.
He was a life-long resident of this wonderful city and enjoyed his retirement by taking walks and playing outdoors with his two beautiful granddaughters, Sera and Analisa. Polo loved his family deeply and his greatest joy was having his two granddaughters visit daily.
Polo was preceded in death by both parents, Cecilio and Herlinda, his brother Cipriano and sisters Leonor and Hortencia. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Guillermina, daughter and son in-law Maricela and Abraham Quinteros, two grand daughters, and five brothers David, Alfonso, Roberto, Everardo and Jose Luis.
The family would like to thank the staff of Visiting Nurses and Hospice Care for all the loving care during his illness.
