SANTA MARIA A Santa Maria couple was arrested Monday afternoon on child endangerment and drug related charges after a concerned homeowner reported their suspicious looking vehicle by the intersection of Kit Way and Glines Avenue in Orcutt.
According to a press release, after the homeowner called the Santa Barbara County Public Safety Center, deputies made contact with the couple in the car, 23-year-old Justin Dacanay and 23-year-old Alondra Oliva.
A six-month-old baby was also in the vehicle and after an investigation, the deputies arrested Mr. Dacanay and Ms. Oliva on suspicion of child endangerment, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and possessing drug paraphernalia. Mr. Dacanay was also charged with possession of heroin and Ms. Oliva was charged with resisting or delaying a peace officer.
Child Welfare Services took custody of the baby and Mr.Dacanay and Ms. Oliva were booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail. Both have bail set at $100,000.
