GOLETA A young man and woman were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night on Farren Road in the unincorporated area outside of the city of Goleta, authorities said. The incident was reported just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. A young man and women were inside their vehicle when four suspects pulled up next to them, opened the doors and demanded their belongings. One of the suspects was armed with a pistol, said Kelly Hoover, spokeswoman for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspects smashed the rear window of the vehicle and the victims handed over their cell phones, wallets and keys and the suspects sped off, Ms. Hoover said.
The victims ran to a nearby residence for help and called 911. Authorities responded and searched the area but the suspects were not located. The suspects are described as four Latino men in a red or orange Dodge Charger. An investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 681-4100.
