GOLETA A two-alarm fire broke out in the attic of a home Thursday morning in the 1400 block of Camino Meleno in the Goleta Valley, authorities said.
At approximately 10:11 a.m., Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews responded with a first-alarm response to reports of a structure fire. Arriving units reported smoke coming from the left side of the structure and a second alarm was added due to active fire in the attic area, said Capt. Daniel Bertucelli, fire spokesman.
Engine companies on scene conducted an aggressive initial attack from the interior of the home and were able to stop the fire from spreading throughout the rest of the residence, Capt. Bertucelli said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
