Dorado Schmitt and the Django Festival All-Stars will perform at 8 p.m. Monday at the Lobero Theatre, 33 E. Canon Perdido St.
Mr. Schmitt, a French Gypsy guitarist and violinist, leads the ensemble, which features Samson Schmitt, Amati Schmitt, Ludovic Beier and Pierre Blanchard.
Dorado Schmitt was born to Gypsy parents and grew up on Gypsy music such as jazz, but pursued other music as well. As a teen-ager, he took up the electric guitar and emulated Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana.
His ensemble, the Django Festival All-Stars, has been hailed for members’ music at the Django Reinhardt Festival.
Tickets for the Jazz at the Lobero concert cost $40 and $50 for general admission and $106 for VIP seats, which include a pre-show reception.
