43, born June 10, 1969 to Darrell and Donna Dunscomb, passed away on January 10, 2013 in Twain Harte, CA.
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, he later attended the Culinary Arts Program at Santa Barbara City College where he developed his passion for cooking. He was known for his ‘tasty’ original sauces at many BBQ’s cooking and singing “Put a lime in the coconut”. Matthew was a gifted craftsman and he especially enjoyed building log furniture, but his work was in the family pest control business helping build it for over 20 years.
Matthew was raised and baptized in the First Baptist Church of Santa Barbara where he grew in his faith and love in God. He loved Jesus.
Matthew’s many interests included family and friends, camping and fishing, dirt biking, BBQ’s and hanging out with his dog Cleo.
He especially cherished his time spent with his nieces and nephews. He was a fun and loving Uncle. He so enjoyed the many children’s fiesta parades, helping to build and pull their floats. He was loads of fun and he loved his role as “Uncle Matt”.
A Celebration of Matt’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church on Veronica Springs Road in Santa Barbara on March 11th at 1:30 pm.
Preceded in death, his grandfather, Kenneth Vernon and mother, Donna Dunscomb.
Matt is survived by his father Darrell Dunscomb, sisters Carolyn Hoppers, Terri (Buzzy) Edgerton, his brother David Dunscomb, his nieces and nephews Brian, Pamela, Kevin, Kymberly Hoppers, Zachary, Crystal, Joshua and Ethan Edgerton and grandmother, Flora Vernon and the rest of the family.
