SANTA BARBARA Families, friends and fellow Elks are invited to the annual Fourth of July Family Fun Day patriotic celebration today hosted by the Santa Barbara Elks Lodge #613, 150 N. Kellogg Ave.
More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the free event, which is set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to a news release.
A variety of games and activities for all ages will be offered, as well as barbecue, music and raffles. The Children’s Gazebo will be open for kids to create crafts, enjoy facepainting and more. Entry is $5. Each child will also be able to pick out their on Beany Baby to take home.
For adults, there will be Bingo and various items available during a silent and live auction, as well as a 50/50 raffle with a pot of $3,000.
The event will also serve as an opportunity to view the chartered Boy Scout troops 4 and 37 who will be working towards their community merit badge while volunteering. Local grammar school students will also participate in their school’s Parent Teacher’s Association. The school’s PTA with the most students will be awarded $500 to supplement their cost throughout the school year.
