LOMPOC Authorities have identified the man killed in a multi-vehicle head-on collision last week on State Route 1 north of Constellation Road as Patrick Neisinger, 50, of Lompoc.
The collision was reported at 11:05 a.m. Friday involving three vehicles. A Toyota Corolla, driven by Mr. Neisinger, was attempting to pass two vehicles and entered the center median and struck a vehicle in the No. 1 lane before colliding head on into a white Ford Explorer traveling the opposite direction, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Mr. Neisinger’s vehicle crashed into an embankment and caught fire. Next of kin has been notified, authorities said.
The driver of the Explorer, Brenda Begg, 55, of Lompoc, suffered critical injuries in the collision.
She was transported by County Air Support to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
