SANTA BARBARA Five people are facing felony charges stemming from the homicide that occurred early Saturday on the city’s Eastside, police said.
Angel Barajas, 31, Igor Ortiz, 20, Adelain Ibarra, 20, Alondra Ochoa, 18, and a female juvenile, whose name was withheld, have all been taken into custody, said Anthony Wagner, spokesman for the Santa Barbara Police Department.
At 1:15 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a report of an assault in the 1300 block of Cacique Street. Officers located an unconscious man, later identified as Alberto Suarez Torres, 29, of Santa Barbara. Mr. Torres suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where he later died.
“Based on the ongoing investigation the Police Department is refraining from providing additional information at this time,” Mr. Wagner said.
