Former Westmont standout Maddi Berthoud signed her first professional contract, agreeing to play for FF Lugano 1976 of the Swiss Women’s premier league, Ligue National A.
Berthoud has started in the last two contests for FF Lugano 1976, with the matches being played on Feb. 15 and Feb. 22.
Berthoud started all 21 games for the Warriors in her senior campaign, scoring nine goals, third-most on the team, while also assisting on five others.
She led Westmont to a share of its first regular-season Golden State Athletic Conference title in four years this past season. The Warriors lost in the GSAC tournament championship.
Westmont made it to the quarterfinals of the NAIA tournament before being bounced by second-seeded Keiser.
For her career, Berthoud scored 40 goals, cracking the top-10 goals scorers in program history, as well as top-10 in total points earned.
Berthoud was an All-GSAC player all four seasons she played for the Warriors. She was named to the NAIA All-American Honorable Mention list in 2016 and 2018 and was an NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2018.
