The Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation has four new members for its 2019-20 board, officials announced Monday.
Alan Brumberger, Susan Case, Bob Fulmer and Stephanie Riordan started their terms July 1, joining board President Anne Howard, Vice President Emily Engel, Secretary Jim Sterne and Treasurer Broke McDermott, according to a news release.
“Our Board members bring diverse talents, expertise, and philanthropic experience to the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation. They are enthusiastic about strengthening our community through our Public Library,” Library Director Lauren Trujillo said in the news release.
Mrs. Case served previously on the board, from 2016 to 2018. A former high school English teacher, she received a master’s degree from Teachers College at Columbia University. She is a member of Social Ventures, serves on the Ensemble Theatre Board and is involved with the Library Foundation’s development committee.
Mr. Fulmer also served on the board before, having been a member from 2015 to 2017. He is “author or co-author of over 150 published articles and almost 40 business books, monographs and editions,” according to the news release. He was a Visiting Scholar at MIT and held endowed chairs at Trinity College, Pepperdine University and the William & Mary College.
Ms. Riordan has been a senior marketing strategist at Coca-Cola for 18 years. She previously worked for GDR Advertising and the Martin William advertising agency where she “managed planning and implementation for DuPont Corian, U.S. Bank, Little Tikes, and Marvin Windows,” according to the news release.
Mr. Brumberger is the CEO and general securities principal for Emerald Point Capital LLC. He is a graduate of Yale University, the University of Michigan Law School and Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He is a member of the board of directors of the U.S. Central Asia Educational Foundation.
