70 years old, 7th generation Californian, grew up in Santa Barbara but was a long time resident of San Francisco. She passed away January 28 of cancer complications. A flower power hippie, Adriene was proud to be part of the phenomenon that hit Haight-Ashbury in 1967. She was “spicy”, often found with a purple streak in her hair, volunteered at St. Anthony’s kitchen and was an active member of the magnificent Glide Memorial Church. She leaves behind a fiance, 2 sons, 2 brothers, a sister, 3 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and an altruistic example to do for others. In memory of Adriene, smile at a stranger, love bigger and make friends laugh.
