CARPINTERIA Girls Inc. of Carpinteria introduced Elaine K. Mah Best as their new executive director on Thursday.
According to a news release Ms. Best has 14 years of executive leadership experience. Most recently, she served as vice president of institutional advancement for the Santa Barbara Zoo.
During her tenure she led efforts to raise more than $27 million in donations in since 2009.
Ms. Best succeeds Victoria Juarez, who spent nearly eight years at Girls Inc. and recently joined the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara as CEO.
Girls Inc. of Carpinteria helps over 700 girls navigate gender, economic and social barriers and grow into healthy, educated and independent adults each year.
