The Goleta City Council will discuss COVID-19 and more during a virtual meeting scheduled at 5:30 p.m. today.
Among the items being discussed will be a financial update on the city through the third quarter of fiscal year 2019-20. The report will also include adjustments to the budget related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also scheduled to be heard will be plans for additional Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to be used for Goleta-specific assistance to nonprofits and residents who need help during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The council will also consider possible approval of the city partnering with local organizations to provide small business, nonprofit and individual assistance programs. The Goleta City Council also plans on discussing the public hearing for a solid waste-rate increase that is scheduled for July 1. In accordance with Proposition 218, residents have the opportunity to oppose the increase. Verbal and written comments will be accepted.
