The contrast could not be starker. An immigrant who came to this country legally, for the noble purpose of becoming a law enforcement officer sworn to protect and serve us, is dead. He was Newman Police Cpl. Ronil Singh. He was the father of a newborn.
Cpl. Singh was murdered by an illegal alien low-life gang banger who was allowed to remain in this country for nothing less than nefarious purposes. This killer was part of a notorious street gang known as the Surenos, which has some 30,000 members who specialize in murder, extortion, narcotics, prostitution, human smuggling and robbery. The Surenos are subservient to the Mexican Mafia, a prison gang. The killer had been arrested and prosecuted previously, but was not deported because of the insane and outrageous laws in this state that serve to protect the guilty from deportation while subjugating the innocent to their crime sprees. Hence, one dead cop, husband, father and legal immigrant.
This despicable murder happened in the midst of a government shutdown having to do with funding a wall to protect our southern border. President Trump wants a wall while many progressives want an open border. Thus far, all of the Democrats, including our Congressman, Salud Carbajal, are content with our current border status, which for all intents and purposes might as well be an open border. Moreover, it is the Democratic Party that has been running interference against our Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE) agency, preventing them from enforcing our laws, going so far as to call for the abolishment of the agency. Hence, one dead cop, husband, father and legal immigrant.
Locally, the organization CAUSE recently mounted a protest against our sheriff for what they construed to be cooperation with ICE. Lost on these fanatics is the fact that here in California, due to jail and prison overcrowding and lax criminal statutes, the only people who get incarcerated are felons. Nonetheless, CAUSE declared that they want the illegal aliens who commit such crimes released back on the street. Ergo, one dead cop, husband, father and legal immigrant.
CAUSE is a lost cause in that many of the crimes committed by illegal aliens are against other immigrants, including their own family members. Locally, the crimes CAUSE wanted the sheriff to ignore include murder, rape, child molestation and battery. Hence, CAUSE and their ilk are actually protesting in order to protect the predators at the expense of the prey. Their cause is therefore also an unjust CAUSE.
All of these activists, and their pals in government, including Jerry Brown, Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris, along with the people who are supporting these policies, have blood on their hands. Turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the de facto sanctuary status granted all the illegal alien gang members in our state and country is itself criminal.
Illegal aliens who commit crimes in our society should be deported immediately upon completion of their sentence. Our elected representatives take an oath to uphold our Constitution and our laws. Their aiding and abetting of criminals should be grounds for removing them from office.
