71, died May 17 in Santa Barbara. He was born Aug. 14, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Marvin Sr. and Dorothy Gustafson, who precede him in death. He is survived by his beloved partner, Linda Williams; sons by a previous marriage Erik (Shannon) in Kansas City and Neal (Tanya) in Chicago, brother Roger in Stilwell, Kansas, and Linda’s son, Russell Williams. He was a proud grandfather to Larkin Vega Gustafson.
He was a talented artist and architect who worked both independently and as an employee of Peikert Group Architects in Santa Barbara. He lived in Santa Barbara for 24 years.
Marvin was a Fellow at the Royal College of Art, London; a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had a great respect for the philosophy of the indigenous people and a special place in his heart for his beloved Aussie, Tehya.
Private services will be held by the family.
