
Died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Napoleon, Ohio on September 17, 1921 and attended Purdue University for three years before the 2nd World War interrupted. He became a Gunnery Instructor in the Army and traveled to various bases. After the war he married Harriet in 1944 and went into the family business involving building and supplies. He retired and moved to Solvang, California to fulfill a lifetime dream. They were able to travel the nation during which his Photography became the inspiration for Harriet’s paintings. During his lengthy illness Golden View Health Care made it possible for him to remain at home with Harriet.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard, California. Loper Funeral Chapel, Directors.
