GOLETA First responders will hold a community outreach event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at The Coffee Bean and Leaf in Goleta.
The Coffee Bean and Leaf is hosting “Heroes with Hearts,” an event intended as a “way to bring community members together with deputies and firefighters who work in the area,” according to a news release.
Lt. Brian Thielst of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, who is chief of police services in Goleta, will be on hand along with Lt. Juan Camarena of the Isla Vista Foot Patrol.
Coffee and pastries will be served, while children will have their own activities and a raffle. The sheriff’s office is bringing an armored vehicle for display and two K-9 units will be there for a meet and greet with the public, according to the news release.
The Coffee Bean and Leaf is at 5745 Calle Real.
