
SANTA BARBARA — Paseo Nuevo is stepping up to help workers looking to make some extra cash this holiday season.
Santa Barbara County Workforce Development, Paseo Nuevo and the Santa Barbara County Business Engagement Roundtable will host a holiday retail job expo on Tuesday. The event will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 651 Paseo Nuevo.
“We’re constantly growing so we’re constantly hiring,” said Brightstar Care of Santa Barbara Branch Manager Laura Nielsen.
“I’m holding an orientation every week because we’re always looking for responsible people to care for our clients in their homes,” she said.
BrightStar Care nurses and caregivers deliver provide a range of home care services.
“We’re taking care of everything from grooming to daily tasks for our clients,” said Ms. Nielsen.
The job event is free and open to the public.
“Job-seekers will have the opportunity to network with dozens of employers seeking individuals to fill their open positions for full-time, part-time and seasonal positions. Employers will have the opportunity to meet candidates and interview on the spot,” read a Paseo Nuevo news release.
Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes. Seasonal holiday work may have lead to a regular full-time position.
Over 20 employers have committed to attend including Brightstar Care of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District and Banana Republic.
The first 200 job seekers to show up will receive a free Saje Natural Wellness burlap bag. Check-in will be held at 505 Paseo Nuevo, near Victoria’s Secret.
