The first volunteer training for the 2020 Homeless Point-In-Time Count is Saturday and participants are still needed.
The 2020 Point-In-Time Count will take place on Jan. 29 and is the annual count of individuals and families experiencing homelessness on a given day.
Teams of volunteers and experts will canvas assigned routes throughout the county and will briefly document who is experiencing homelessness. This information is used to plan local homeless assistance systems and raise public awareness.
Saturday’s training is the first of seven training events that will be held throughout the county. The training will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Coast Community Church at 4973 Via Los Santos.
The county still needs volunteers and asks that those willing to participate sign up at liveunitedsbc.org/news/volunteer-point-time-count-2020, where you can also find additional information on the Count.
