The Santa Barbara Humane Society is cutting fees by half this month for adult dog adoptions.
The 50 percent discount is part of Barktoberfest, the nonprofit’s celebration of National Adopt A Shelter Dog Month.
Placing more animals in home will allow the humane society to take more dogs from overcrowded shelters, Kerri Burns, the society executive director, said in a news release. “We appreciate that our community shares our commitment to saving lives and hope they join us in celebrating Adopt A Dog Month.”The Santa Barbara Humane Society is located at 5399 Overpass Road, Goleta. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. The shelter is closed Wednesdays.
