SANTA BARBARA James Hutchison has been appointed as chief financial officer for the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara.
A skilled accounting professional who has worked in the business and nonprofit sectors, Mr. Hutchison completed his undergraduate studies at Cal Poly before earning an accounting certification through UCSB’s extension program. He most recently served as chief financial officer at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, where his responsibilities included analysis and reporting in addition to oversight of the organization’s finances and business office staff, Tim Dougherty, director of marketing and communications, said in a news release.
Mr. Hutchison began his accounting career at Deloitte & Touche in San Jose and later joined the staff of MacFarlane, Faletti & Co. in Santa Barbara. He went on to become a senior accountant at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art before being named CFO in 2007.
“Given his strong track record in the areas of financial administration and systems implementation, we are very confident James is the right person for this position and our organization. We are pleased to have him on our team,” Christie Glanville, board chair for the foundation, said in a statement.
