BUELLTON An unlicensed cannabis delivery service was discovered Friday during a traffic stop for a speeding violation in Buellton, authorities said.
During the traffic stop, an 18-year-old was found with an open container of marijuana in the vehicle. Detectives determined the driver, whose name was withheld, was participating in an unlicensed cannabis delivery service based in San Luis Obispo serving various parts of the county, Kelly Hoover, spokeswoman for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, said in a news release.
Detectives executed a search warrant, which resulted in the seizure of over $60,000 of illegal cannabis products — including various dried marijuana flowers, vape pens and edibles. Approximately $7,600 in cash was seized, as well as two unlicensed firearms, Ms. Hoover said.
Additional arrests in the case are pending. An investigation is ongoing.
