A fire in an apartment on Picasso Road in Isla Vista was quickly contained Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded at about 2:40 p.m. to the fire in a two-story apartment building in the 6000 block of Picasso Road. Five engines, one truck, one ambulance and a battalion chief responded to the incident and the fire was knocked down within five minutes, a Fire Department spokesman said.
An occupant who was able to get out of the apartment complained of smoke inhalation.
The fire remains under investigation.
